Carmen Carter has published four Star Trek novels for Pocket Books, thus finally proving to her parents that becoming a Trekkie was an investment in her future rather than a sign of a disturbed childhood. Her first Trek novel, Dreams of the Raven, was a Classic Trek tale, but The Children of Hamlin and The Devil's Heart were both about the ST:TNG crew. Her fourth novel for Pocket was as a co-author of The Doomsday World, writing with Peter David, Michael J. Friedman and Bob Greenberger.

Currently, Carmen is living in the Blue Ridge mountains of Northern Virginia, and working at a printing plant where she can buy hardcover books for a quarter. She denies any responsibility for the seismic tremors centered on her study. She shares her home with one human, three dogs, a cat, and at least one uninvited bat.
